How can I get to the hotel?
- On the road:
Zalakaros can be reached on the road from different directions. There is the M7 motorway only 7 km (ca. 4,3 miles) from the spa town on which you can get straight to Budapest, the capital of Hungary within 1,5 hours. From the southern border, it is only half an hour away on the M7 through Nagykanizsa. From the western border you can get to Zalakaros on the highways Nr. 75 and 76 (through Zalaegerszeg). Lake Balaton is only 20 km from the spa town; Balatonszentgyörgy and Keszthely are the next lakeside towns.
From Budapest: On the motorway M7 drive to the junction Nr. 191 at Zalakomár. Drive off the motorway then take highway 7 to the direction of Nagykanizsa. At the Galambok junction turn left to Zalakaros and you will reach the town within 3- 4 km (ca. 2 miles) - By the bus:
The bus schedule ensures direct connection between Zalakaros and Budapest and other smaller and larger cities in Hungary during the whole year.
The city bus station is only 500 m from Hotel Karos Spa. If you wish, we are happy to offer our transfer facilities there free of charge. - By the train:
On the line of Budapest-Nagykanizsa you can travel either to Zalakomár or to Nagykanizsa to get to Zalakaros. These are the next train stations to the spa town.
From the train stations you can take the scheduled buses, alternatively the transfer facility of Hotel Karos Spa for a small charge.
How are the bedrooms of the Hotel Karos Spa equipped?
Where are the bedrooms?
The 300 bedrooms are in 2 buildings- in the main building of the hotel and in the apartment house just 70 m from there. You can use an underground corridor between the 2 buildings or walk through the garden of the hotel.

The Spa superior bedrooms of the wellness hotel are air conditioned, equipped with TV, minibar, telephone, safe box and hair dryer and access to Wi-Fi. To every bedroom belongs a balcony or terrace, and a bathroom either with bath tub or shower cabin, some of them with both.
In the apartments there are even bath tubes with thermal water!
There are rooms for the special needs: allergic rooms and baby apartments.
The baby equipment with useful devices as a baby cot, baby changing table, etc. can be ordered to other room types, too.
Which facilities are included in the room rates?
Our prices include the following services:
- Half board: hearty buffet breakfast and buffet dinner
- Unlimited use of the Spa Pool and Sauna World
- Outdoor swimming and adventure pools (availability subject to season)
- Indoor adventure pool, swimming pool, thermal pool, children’s pool, Jacuzzi, whirlpool, bio sauna, Finnish saunas, steam bath, ice cave
- Fitness room
- Bath robe (only for adults)
- Internet in the bedrooms and in the common areas of the hotel (Wi-Fi)
- VAT
From what time can I take the room and until when do I need to leave?
On the arrival day you can take your room from 4.00 p.m. On the day of your departure we ask you to leave your room until 10.00 a.m.
Late check out is possible for a small charge: 4 Euro / room / hour or up to 4.00 p.m. 15 Euro (following to availability).
What parking facilities does the wellness hotel offer?
There are 2 possibilities for your car:
- Outdoor parking from the direction of Alma street (main entrance): 4 € /car / night
- Outdoor parking from the direction of Kanicai street (back entrance): 3 € /car / night
- Garage fee: 7 € / car / night
What credit cards do you accept?
American Express, Maestro, Eurocard-Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron.
Does the hotel provide bath robe for the hotel guests?
Room rates of the hotel include the use of the bath robe for adults. Bath robes are changed once a week during your stay following to the international environmental recommendatives.
Changing for request: 5 Euro / bathrobe. There is no bath robe for children.
What are the possibilities in case of food allergy?
Our hotel does not have a diet kitchen and therefore cannot undertake special diets. In addition, our breakfast and dinner buffet will list allergens.
How to cancel my reservation?
The reservation can be cancelled 3 days before the arrival free of charge. In case of cancellation within 3 days, the full price of the ordered rooms and facilities for the entire stay will be invoiced.
Cancellation policy for priority periods:
Your booking will become final upon transfer of the deposit.
Your reservation can be modified 30 days before the date of arrival, but cannot be canceled, the amount paid can later be used for accommodation and half board, the amount paid will not be refunded by Karosinvest Zrt.
No modification is possible within 30 days, the amount paid will not be refunded by Karosinvest Zrt, it will be accounted for as a penalty.
